No, you don't have to meet with me to book me, but I do recommend meeting with the bride and groom in advance of the wedding to give me a better understanding of what you are looking for from your wedding photographs. Ideally we would meet at your wedding venue so we can discuss your requirements and identify potential locations.

The booking fee is £250.00. This is paid at the time of booking to secure the date, and must be sent with a completed signed contract. The balance is payable 28 days before the wedding.
Back to questions
Yes I will provide a contract that outlines what package is paid for, and what is expected of both parties in the provision of the service.

If you select one of the CD packages, you will receive a CD that contains high resolution photographs of all the shots on the day minus any out takes. For the album packages you will select the photos you wish to have included in your album or as individual prints, however, it is possible to purchase the CD which contains all the photographs that have been taken on the day for an additional fee.

The number of pictures depends on a number of things - for example the size of the wedding, the scope of the surroundings, and your individual requirements. Typically I will take around 350 images. An average wedding will have more than 200 images after removing the out takes. However I believe in providing high quality images, not just as taking as many photos as possible.

You can expect to receive the CD of the pictures within 3 weeks. If one of the album packages has been selected, this CD will contain only low resolution images for you to choose the photographs for the album. Your completed album will follow approximately 6 weeks after you have notified me of your image/cover choices.

Photography during the ceremony is at the discretion of the person conducting. Sometimes photography is only allowed at certain moments, for example when exchanging the rings. If there are no restrictions I try to be unobtrusive so as not to distract guests from the ceremony.
Back to questions
I have no standard list of what groups should be taken - this really depends on the individual wedding and the requirements of the bride and groom. The best thing is for you to prepare the list of proposed shots and then I will happily make suggestions for additional shots you may want to consider or identify whether there may be too many shots for the time we have available. I try to ensure that group photographs take no more than 30 minutes so guests can have plenty of time to enjoy the celebrations.
I also like to photograph the bride and groom separately. The aim is to balance your requirements so that some memorable photographs are captured but not to keep you away from the celebrations for too long. I will always work within your timescale's for your day.
Back to questions
I use a digital camera as I find there are many advantages of using digital equipment for wedding photography. With digital photography I can shoot more pictures, get immediate feedback on images whilst shooting, and retouch them easily after the day with image editing software.
Back to questions
I always shoot in colour and then convert a selection of appropriate images to black and white, which gives you a choice of colour or black and white on a number of photos. If you wish to have a particular image in black and white this can usually be arranged.
Back to questions
Yes, I have professional indemnity insurance.
Back to questions
Yes, I have backup photographic equipment (such as spare camera body, lenses, flashgun, batteries and memory cards) that can be used in case of failure or accidents.
Back to questions
I am part of a network of photographers and I will give them dates of my weddings in advance. If I was ill on the day I would contact this network to try and find a photographer who was able cover the wedding day and I would pass all the relevant information on to them. If this was not possible as no-one in the network was available, then the full cost of the wedding photography would be repaid as per my contract.
